Therapist

Cynthia B. Nava, M.S., LPC-Supervisor

When I was younger, I thought I wanted to be a doctor. I knew I wanted to help people feel better and live healthier, more fulfilling lives. High school biology quickly convinced me that medicine wasn’t the right path, but in my senor year of high school, I discovered psychology and it truly felt like coming home.

In my work as a therapist, I don’t see you as the problem. Instead, we look at the problem as something separate from who you are. This perspective—rooted in narrative therapy—can be incredibly freeing. It allows us to explore how life experiences, relationships, and external expectations have shaped the story you tell about yourself, and then decide together what parts of that story still serve you and what needs to change.

I aim to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the need to have it all figured out. Therapy with me is collaborative and supportive. I listen closely, validate your experiences, and gently challenge patterns or beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. Along the way, we focus on helping you reconnect with your strengths, build self-trust, and develop a narrative that feels more authentic and empowering.

My role isn’t to “fix” you, because you aren’t broken. My role is to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences, heal at your own pace, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and aligned with who you truly are.
